Hickory

Hickory trees can grow to 100 feet in height and about 25 feet wide.  Hickory is an open grained hardwood, ranging in color from blond or cream to lively reddish brown with streaks of purple.  The grain is normally straight, but can sometimes be irregular or wavy causing the finished piece to shimmer in the light.  The boards often have defects such as ingrown bark, tight knots and bird peck, enhancing the beauty of each piece.
