Oak

This is one of the largest trees in eastern and central North America. It typically reaches heights of 80 to 100 feet at maturity, and its canopy can become quite massive.  North American White Oak is one of the finest North American hardwood lumbers and also one of the most spectacular trees.  Red Oak is a light, very hard, heavy, and strong wood.  It is ring porous, which is caused by the more numerous and larger conductive vessels laid down early in the summer.  The resulting prominent rings and large pores produces fascinating grain in the finished pieces.
