Hand Turned Wooden Bowls Platters, Plates & Vases

 - BOWLS BY PAUL -
One Good Turn Deserves Another

MY COLLECTION

My collection consists of hand turned wooden bowls, plates, platters and vases made from native American woods including: apple, box elder, cedar, cherry, oakhickory, poplar and walnut.  They are hand crafted from solid blanks or alternating strips of different woods and grains yielding intricate and fascinating shapes and patterns.  The wood's natural grain, as well as knots, cracks & inclusions, enhance the beauty of each piece.  It is common for the design to change as I start turning.  The wood guides me; it "talks" to me.

The hand crafted pieces are both meant to be both used and displayed.  While my hand turned bowls are great for holding fruit and salads, the platters and dishes for holding chips, cheeses and fruit and the cups for holding stamps, coins and knickknacks, they are also beautiful to the eye.  They are truly functional works of art.

My customers develop a special affinity for my work, which goes beyond form or function.  They bond with them.  They are proud to display, as well as use them. They are functional, food safe works of art in wood; each piece is unique, handcrafted by inspiration and by the wood itself in my workshop in Delaware County Pennsylvania.

You can purchase one of my pieces on this site or via eCommerce (to be developed).  Alternatively, I would be delighted to have you visit with me at one of my upcoming shows.

Here are a few examples of my work.
