Maple

Maples trees grow to a height of 33 to 148 ft. Most species are deciduous, and many are renowned for their autumn leaf color.  Sapwood color ranges from nearly white, to an off-white cream color, sometimes with a reddish or golden hue. The heartwood tends to be a darker reddish brown. The grain typically has a fine, even texture.  However, hard maple can also have curly or quilted grain patterns and is known as birdseye maple.
