Cherry

Chery trees grow to heights of 50-100 feet with diameters of 1-1/2 to 5 feet. Young trees have a straight trunk and symmetrical conical crown, becoming rounded to irregular as the trees age.  Pennsylvania Cherry is considered to be one of the finest North American hardwoods.   The wood is prized for both beauty and work-ability.   Within days of exposure to sun light, the freshly cut heart wood turns a reddish brown hue, contrasting beautifully with the sapwood which remains light.  It takes on a beautiful sheen when finished.
